Today, Miss. Hulina’s Kindergarten used their pumpkins to investigate and discover! The class measured their pumpkins, counted the lines on them, and even tested if their pumpkin would sink or float in water!

On Friday, October 25, Duane Abel visited CW West Elementary to showcase his characters and drawings to our students! He encouraged students to establish goals, learn to love reading, and value their education. Abel has an extreme passion for illustration, and after creating the character “ZED”, he was offered a book contract. Between demonstrating his talents, sharing funny jokes, and interacting with the crowd, our elementary students had a blast!

📖🌟 Recently, the CW librarians presented at our School Board Meeting and highlighted their crucial role in inspiring a love of reading among our students. They showcased the importance of engagement with books and shared insights into teaching essential skills like library navigation, research methods, and information literacy.
Each librarian throughout our buildings actively supports both students and teachers, creating a positive learning environment. The Board appreciated their transparency in discussing book selection and the purchasing process.
