Dear CWE Families, This Thursday, we’re excited to celebrate Halloween with a special Spirit Day! Students are welcome to join in the fun by wearing Halloween-themed shirts or festive headbands. For safety and comfort, we kindly ask that students do not wear costumes, masks, or bring props to school. Please do not send in candy. Yesterday, students who earned and redeemed enough tickets in our SWPBS program, got to have lunch with our local police officers. They had a great time interacting with them! Our local officers go above and beyond to help our community! #WeAreWeiser

🌍✨ On Friday, October 25th, the fourth graders at East Elementary virtually traveled to Ghana, Africa! During this time, our students had live learning interactions with Ghanaian students. 💟 We learned about their favorite foods, music, sports, and holidays. Last week Mrs. McDermott's second grade and Mrs. Shahade's Kindergarten classes got together and became "Batty About Their Book Buddies!" After hearing the story "Stellaluna," they created bats on a spooky night sky! #WeAreWeiser

Last week, Mrs. McDermott's second grade class was challenged to become fire safe after studying fire safety. They took a checklist home to see if their homes and families were ready in case of a fire emergency. The children earned badges and are now smoke detectives! #WeAreWeiser

Our first haul of fresh produce for the freedge consisted of some lettuce and spinach. Feel free to stop by with your own bag to take what you want. Once they're gone, they're gone till we get another harvest. #WeAreWeiser

Our CW East Freedge (community fridge) is open for its first food donation! Throughout the year we will be filling our fridge, which is located at the morning parent drop-off entrance, with fresh produce that we grow in our Hydroponics unit. It is also possible that we may have donations from local farmers, or that community members can donate non-perishibale foods as well. This resource will serve as a type of food bank for all of our community members. Please see the attached images to see the rules about the fridge, to learn about it, and to learn how you can help our community with it as well. Anyone in our community is able to stop by and take any food that is in the Freedge or on the shelves next to it, much like the High School does their their Freedge by the age of department. Bring your own bag for your food items please. #WeAreWeiser
