History & Schools of Conrad Weiser Area School District
In the 1980s, a small group of property owners in Lancaster County successfully seceded from the Cocalico School District, establishing the Squire Hill Independent School District. However, this newly formed district was short-lived and later merged with the Conrad Weiser Area School District.
Today, Conrad Weiser Area School District operates four schools, serving students from kindergarten through twelfth grade:
Conrad Weiser High School (Grades 9–12)
Conrad Weiser Middle School (Grades 5–8)
Conrad Weiser East Elementary School (Grades K–4)
Conrad Weiser West Elementary School (Grades K–4)
Conrad Weiser Decisions (Grade 9-12)
Scout Virtual Academy (Grades K-12)
The District is named after Conrad Weiser, a prominent colonial-era Pennsylvanian known for his role as an interpreter and emissary, facilitating important councils between Native American tribes and colonial governments. His legacy of communication and leadership continues to inspire the values of the District today.
